I think I only have still shots of the inside which you can see on this page: http://baldbrain.com/freakshow-jester-halloween-costume-2010/

It did take long time to build, but all my costumes do. I like the look of the shiny fabric that I used, but it isn't the easiest fabric to work with. The other difficult aspect is being my own model. It's kinda tough to take measurements of myself while I'm wearing the big oversized pieces of the frame. I always have to find a way to suspend the costume at the right height so I can hand the fabric on it and take accurate measurements.

I have question for you. I'm using 3" mirrors and it seems that motor speed has a lot to do with the shape thats produced in my case. At 12v an almost flat line is produced. If I power it down to about 6 volts i get a circle that's pretty small and if I change the laser angle all that happens is the location of the pattern on the wall changes. Any Idea how I could achieve a larger tunnel? Thanks.

I was planning on having a Harry Potter Movie Marathon with my friends over winter break. These ideas have really helped in my planning!
Other ideas you could add would be for the invitations to the party:
•Maurauder's Map
•Hogwarts First-years greetings
•Howler (get a card where you can record your own voice, and decorate it to be magical-like).
Thanks, hope everyone has fun with their Wizarding - and Muggle - fiestas!

I would think cutting the long pieces into shorter sections would be ok if you use some cotter pins to keep them together at the joints. Or if you want to get really fancy, run a long piece of bungee cord through the length of each pipe with a knot at each end. You could pull the pieces apart and fold them up, the just straighten it out and the bungee would keep them together.

Hi there! I must say the Bimini top is most impressive. I have just completed the frame work, following your design. All that is left is the fabric. My question revolves around portability. The two 10 foot pipes are too long for me to transport. Would you see any harm, or loss of flexibility if I cut that 10 feet into 2-3 pieces and joined with couplings so that I could disassemble the top?

Okay, so this post is a little late but I feel compelled to give my input. After watching all eight movies with Kevin over the weekend, I must say that I too have a grand appreciation for what Rowling did and how the movies were produced. It was truly amazing to watch the development of characters (both by writing and acting) as well as the story. By the end, I felt like these are real people and real places with real abilities! Oh, and did I mention how entertaining the movies were? I like them all. I think that Deathly Hallows Part 1 was my least favorite as far as action and entertainment but one of the best in acting and preparing the characters for the finale. My favorite movies were in the middle (3 through 5) with Deathly Hallows Part 2 a close second to that group). While I'm sure I'll have that curiosity of wondering about the character's lives outside of the movies (what happened in between having children? how did they put Hogwarts back together again? how powerful are their children? and etc.), I'm glad the series is over ... and that it ended well. Thanks again Kevin for hosting the weekend. Let me know if we need to do this again with another series!
