Custom DIY Lego iPhone Dash Mount
This is my second custom iPhone dashboard mount. My first one was made mostly from aluminum and held the iPhone in the horizontal position which made the iPod feature difficult to use. So I made a new dashboard mount to hold my iPhone in the vertical position. This time I decided to make it out of Legos!
The first 3 photos show version 1.0 of my lego dashboard mount. It was more complex than it needed to be, so I reduced the number of parts and made its profile a bit smaller for version 2.0.
I mostly used pieces from various old Technic sets. I also used a few special pieces from my Bionical figures. Two Bionical leg/arm pieces are used to snap the whole thing into a seam in my Chevy S10 dashboard. A Bionical foot piece is used to hold the iSimple dock cable when it isn't plugged into my iPhone. And two Bionical claws swivel down to grip the top of the iPhone. The last photo shows how I can even use it as a dashboard video camera should I ever need to play detective. I didn't have to use any glue, so all the Lego fans out there can rest easy tonight.
